Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics
The mission of the Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics at the University of Missouri-Columbia (COL-UMC) is three-fold:
- To design and conduct the highest quality hypothesis-driven research focused on orthopaedic disorders of diarthrodial joints.
- To implement a comparative approach to investigation of joint disease in order to most efficiently and comprehensively address identified problems.
- To apply basic science research to the clinical situation in order to span the gap that often limits the usefulness of scientific discoveries.
We feel that this mission can best be accomplished through a multi-disciplinary, multi-species approach by a team of scientists and clinicians dedicated to the goals this laboratory. We believe that information should be shared and disseminated among investigators in order to most expediently progress toward the ultimate goal of treating, curing, and eliminating the common and debilitating diseases affecting joints.
